My Favorite Newsletters (Part 1 of 3)

I subscribe to a lot of newsletters, and I keep adding more. Newsletters are just brilliant. They‘re fun, personal, and are a great way to satisfy my curiosity about pretty much anything (which is great, as I happen to be curious about pretty much anything). Below, I have listed the newsletters in no particular order - they are all great. Some of them are geared towards artists and/ or writers, some have a more general focus on culture, some are entirely unpredictable. If available, I added a short description or statement from the author(s). I hope you find something interesting!

Austin Kleon

“Weekly art, writing, and creative inspiration from the author of Steal Like an Artist and other bestsellers.”

Experimental History by Adam Mastroianni

“I think science should be done out in the open, unfiltered, and reviewed by anyone who cares to comment. I think it should be exciting and funny. I think it takes things people care about and tries to understand them better. Sometimes that means gathering a bunch of original data, and other times that means thinking about an idea really hard until it cracks open like a walnut. That’s what Experimental History is all about.”

The Honest Broker by Ted Gioia

“A trustworthy guide to music, books, arts, media & culture.”

Pinkcast by Daniel H. Pink

“A short video with science-based tools and tips for working smarter and living better.”

The Art of Noticing by Rob Walker

“Ideas, inspiration, and prompts for creativity, work, and staying human.”

Rob Brezsny's Astrology Newsletter

“Horoscopes, tender rants, and lyrical excitements”

Muddy Colors

“Muddy Colors is a collective of more than 20 artists, dedicated to providing a free, online resource for aspiring and professional artists alike.”
